Homeschool Day at Old Sturbridge Village (MA)

On Winter Home School Day at Old Sturbridge Village, located in Sturbridge, MA,  we offer you and your children the opportunity to visit the Village and join in hands-on activiities and participatory programs.  This is a great opportunity for children to gain exposure to many aspects of 1830s New England life in an interactive way.

On this Home School Day, learn about traditional winter work and play activities.  See maple sugaring as it was done in the early 19th century.  Learn about the history of maple sugaring from Molly Geet (right), an 1830s traditional Native American Doctress.  Observe maple sugar being made and learn about how it was used in cooking.

Worldview Academy Summer Camp

Announcing a one week summer camp experience not to be missed!

Worldview Academy (www.worldview.org) will awaken and mature the adult lurking in your teen! The camp will challenge your student with fascinating lectures and engaging discussions to help your child think discerningly about their culture and other worldviews and religions. The students understand that ideas have consequences, that Christianity is defensible and true, and compare Christianity’s views with New Age, Secularism, and Islamic views.  This is all done through a highly interactive approach with role playing, small group discussions and absorbing speakers.

Greetings From a Newbie Homeschooler!

Greetings from a newbie homeschooler!

If you had told me 10 years ago that today we would have 4 children and be homeschooling, I would have had a good laugh thinking you were telling me a joke.  But, here I am, and my life is quite different from how I’d pictured it would be at this point.  We are now into our 7th month of homeschooling.  I wish I could tell you that I have had so much fun, but that would not be completely truthful.  In fact, the first several weeks of start-up were very stressful for me and to a lesser degree, for my husband.  I have thought about homeschooling for several years and felt God putting it back onto my plate one year ago.  I remember calling Robin Young about something unrelated to homeschooling, and then the conversation turned to just that.  And well, let us just say, the rest is history.

Though our desire was to have this process finalized some time ago, the Lord had other plans. Smiling

Homeschool Cross-Country Volunteer Leader Needed

Andrea Gindhart has been leading the homeschool cross country group for roughly the past 2 years, however, at this time she is no longer able to do so. We are looking for someone else to fill her running shoes! The group meets one hour per week starting in the spring at local area parks that have running/walking trails.  The kids are divided in groups by age.  After running the trail, the kids all come together at the end to play a game of some type.  No timed running has been done in this casual group but it need not stay that way.

Please prayerfully consider this opportunity to lead and serve our youth in this activity.  For more information, contact Kelly Linhart at plinhart1@yahoo.com. Thanks so much!

Leadership Faith Statement

The Holy Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It contains His completed and final revelation to man. We do not endorse or encourage the use of any teaching that conflicts with what is contained in it. The Holy Bible in its original form is without error in its entirety. The Word of God has been and will remain the ultimate authority as we seek His wisdom in representing His group in a way that honors and magnifies the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mission Statement

Living Water Home Educators is composed of homeschool families in Burlington County, NJ and surrounding areas who come together to support one another. Each family that homeschools is an independent, private school that has the freedom to install the beliefs and values that we, the parents, feel are most important to our children. Since this group is not affiliated with any one particular church, we feel it is important for you to know where the leadership of this group stands so that you can feel comfortable participating in the activities and events we offer.

Members should not make any assumptions about the teachings or content that may be provided at these activities and should exercise due diligence before deciding to participate.
