The tour is given in three segments. Your educator will take you through the following three portions of the tour, in no particular order (The schedule is made up each day on a rotating-basis. The Insectarium can not accommodate requests as to scheduling procedures).

1) Insect Film: Your group will watch an insect film in our movie room. The movie will be chosen according to your group's age and special needs. It is also during this time that groups are asked to eat their lunch. We do not provide any food here at the museum.

2) Second Floor: Your educator will gather the children on the second floor of the museum. This is also where we have our live-cockroach kitchen, our working honey-bee hive, and our glowing scorpions. There will be an informative presentation, in which the children will learn the basic science of an insect. This is also where the children may be offered an edible insect to eat (barring any objections from the group leader). There will be supervised exploring time for the children.

3) Third Floor: This is where the majority of our living exhibits are kept. We have insects from all around the globe - some of them quite exotic. Before the children have a chance to explore, though, the educator will give a small presentation using live specimens, and the children will be offered a chance to pet some live animals. All animals are of course safe and friendly.

Leadership Faith Statement

The Holy Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It contains His completed and final revelation to man. We do not endorse or encourage the use of any teaching that conflicts with what is contained in it. The Holy Bible in its original form is without error in its entirety. The Word of God has been and will remain the ultimate authority as we seek His wisdom in representing His group in a way that honors and magnifies the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mission Statement

Living Water Home Educators is composed of homeschool families in Burlington County, NJ and surrounding areas who come together to support one another. Each family that homeschools is an independent, private school that has the freedom to install the beliefs and values that we, the parents, feel are most important to our children. Since this group is not affiliated with any one particular church, we feel it is important for you to know where the leadership of this group stands so that you can feel comfortable participating in the activities and events we offer.

Activities Disclaimer

Please be advised that any activities that are advertised in the Living Water Weekly eNews or website may not necessarily be activities that conform to Living Water's Faith Statement (see above). Members should not make any assumptions about the teachings or content that may be provided at these activities and should exercise due diligence before deciding to participate. These include activities that are considered as "outside interest" as well as those activities (including field trips) that are organized exclusively for Living Water members.
