Join Us for the Living Water General Meeting

The Living Water Home Educator's General Meeting for the start of the 2010/2011 school year will be held at Easton Church on Thursday, September 9th, at7:30pm.

This will be a time to get to know your fellow homeschoolers, find out who's who in leadership, meet the organizers of up coming events, and to pick up your member ID card (this is good for discounts at local retailers). There will be an unsupervised room, adjacent to the meeting, for children 9 and under to play and watch a movie. We ask that children 10 and older remain quietly with their parents please.

Prior to the meeting the new members and Living Water Enrichment teachers will be meeting at 6:30. Those who are involved in either of those will get a separate email from those coordinators with more detail.

We hope to see you there!

10 Reasons Why You Should Come to LWHE's Support Group Meeting on Sept. 9th!

  1. Because support group membership is not a spectator sport.
  2. Because homeschooling and friendship are indispensable to one another.
  3. Because homeschooling is personal and a name in an email isn’t.
  4. Because the best vision with home education is insight and you will get it there.
  5. Because you can’t do everything at once, but you can do something at once – THIS.
  6. Because you can’t pick cherries with your back to the tree.
  7. Because it will strengthen your belief in your plan to homeschool.  Strong beliefs win strong hearts, and then make them stronger.
  8. Because a thousand forests can be created by one rooted acorn. (Well, not really, but this sounds good.)  Come and get rooted, anyway.
  9. Because each of us needs the support of each other.
  10. And, o.k, if you’re counting, number ten is this … we’ll  have COFFEE  AND  COOKIES.

The meeting starts at 7:30 at Easton Bible Church.  (New homeschoolers - there is a Newbie Meeting scheduled to begin at 6:30.)

See  you all on 9/9/10 at Easton!

REMINDER: First Lego League Informational Meeting

Hello, everyone.

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, June 16th from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Evesham Library (Marlton) for First Lego League.

A representative from New Jersey will give a presentation about Jr. FLL/FLL.  The idea is that interested families connect with one another to start local teams for the various programs.  They cannot put children on existing teams, but they will help you start and organize teams.  I encourage you to visit their website prior to the meeting.

http://www.usfirst.org/

Also, the directions for the library are at www.bcls.lib.nj.us/libraries/evesham.  We will meet in the larger of the 2 meeting rooms there-just see front desk for guidance once you arrive.  The library is on the first floor beside the police station.  Any questions, feel free to email me.  If you plan to attend but have not RSVP’d to me, please do so as space is limited.

End of Year General Meeting Notes

Yet again we are amazed at how God is growing the homeschool community and what He is doing in the lives of Living Water members. Please remember to thank Him daily for each relationship gained and avenue traveled to better to teach our children. Thank you for those who came out to our end a year of homeschooling at the Living Water meeting. It was cozy and short but sweet!

I want to thank the many volunteers who help to create this support. For many years it was just moms, but for the past couple of years we have seen several dads, and now even teens who have stepped up to help organize in many  of the areas that are known as "perks" of a Living Water membership.  Such as  the Newbie Club, Tsunami- our high school club, H2O - our junior high club, the many classes offered at Living Water Enrichment, field trips, bread ministry, food pantry, parties and the Ladies Tea.  Maybe you even enjoyed a discount or two using your membership card or through HSLDA. I hope that everyone has taken advantage of our website as well as the Yahoo Discussion group (another membership perk) and read our weekly Enews. I am sure I am forgetting other perks but I just wanted to give you a taste of all the many ways we can support your family. Don't miss out!

Now for some of the highlights from this past week's End-of-Year meeting:

  • Chris Cascarella made an introduction of the new Board of Trustees. Leadership felt it was time to organize the board due to our continued growth and in conjunction with becoming a non-profit incorporated entity. Along with the current leadership (the Cascarella's, Gall's, and Laberee's), we have invited the Geldreich's and Apple's to sit on the board with us.
  • Ryan Geldreich, our treasurer, shared why we increased the membership fee: to cover as much of the needed insurance to protect our members. Although the $10 increase does not cover all of our costs, it certainly helps. As we work toward Federal 501c3 status other opportunities may develop, such as scholarship programs and sponsorships, to members of Living Water.
  • Tracy and Brook had encouraging news for us concerning Living Water Enrichment. We have grown from 60 to 90 families, from 11 to 41 classes, and from 1 to 5 free high school classes! Even though we have almost 90 families (that could be around 200 people in the building at once) Easton Bible Church has mentioned that they don't even know we have been there after we leave! This is because YOU have been honoring your volunteer positions that Tracy creates for you. Your position makes a difference!
  • Congratulations to Victoria Ebiri who won our drawing for a free membership! Maybe you'll be our next winner so make sure you come out to the next meeting to find out.

Please join us for the end of year celebration picnic on Saturday, July 10th, at the Lumberton Municipal Park starting at 4pm. Each family is asked to bring their own dinner and a blanket or chairs.

Thank you all for your loyalty, support, friendships, and prayers!

Blessings,

Chris & Bobbi Cascarella, on behalf of the entire Living Water Leadership Team

Leadership Faith Statement

The Holy Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It contains His completed and final revelation to man. We do not endorse or encourage the use of any teaching that conflicts with what is contained in it. The Holy Bible in its original form is without error in its entirety. The Word of God has been and will remain the ultimate authority as we seek His wisdom in representing His group in a way that honors and magnifies the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mission Statement

Living Water Home Educators is composed of homeschool families in Burlington County, NJ and surrounding areas who come together to support one another. Each family that homeschools is an independent, private school that has the freedom to install the beliefs and values that we, the parents, feel are most important to our children. Since this group is not affiliated with any one particular church, we feel it is important for you to know where the leadership of this group stands so that you can feel comfortable participating in the activities and events we offer.

Activities Disclaimer

Please be advised that any activities that are advertised in the Living Water Weekly eNews or website may not necessarily be activities that conform to Living Water's Faith Statement (see above). Members should not make any assumptions about the teachings or content that may be provided at these activities and should exercise due diligence before deciding to participate. These include activities that are considered as "outside interest" as well as those activities (including field trips) that are organized exclusively for Living Water members.
